NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members and Friends of the Trojan Coaches Club:
In our tradition of keeping all informed, I want to report that your Trojan Coaches Club board met Tuesday, January 16 at El Cholo to review our individual Board functions, plan ahead for year 2018, and to bring on more qualified Board Members.
We have $3,080.24 in the bank, but another year means annual dues of $25 for non-Life Members are due and payable.
Please remit to:
Treasurer Jason Conroy
1314 Agate St., Unit A
Redondo Beach, 90277
or become a Life Member, for (only) $150.
Last year we invested in our inventory of booze, and will post our TCC merchandise consisting currently on TCC Polo Shirts on our website so members can purchase or replace what they have. Review complete inventory on our website www.trojancoachesclub.com on a new Merchandise for Sale tab.
It is with a great deal of sadness that we report the passing of long, long, long-time treasurer Bent Davies. His obituary is posted elsewhere on this home page. His Celebration of Life last week, was literally standing room only and we were required to only wear USC gear. Wasn’t it fortunate that we acknowledged Bent at the July 19th membership meeting with a special plaque presentation?
Looking at the Year Ahead:
March 6, Next Board meeting, at El Cholo (1037 South Flower St.) adjacent to Staples.
March 9-12, USC Cruise to Mexico, cabins still available
April 14, Spring Football Scrimmage, Spring Game Tailgate, scrimmage will most likely be held on campus so stay tuned for more details.
April 30, General Membership Meeting, at the will-be just completed Soccer Stadium with tour, dinner/drinks and speakers, followed by a tour of the still-available Coliseum tower suite options. Thank you, Mike Gin and Bill Payne, for coordinating.
July, Board meeting TBD.
August 17, Salute to Troy Dinner and Pep Rally; TCC will again have two tables for members
September, General Membership Meeting, on campus, likely at the baseball complex, with speakers
November 3, Away-Game watch party (Oregon State)
Welcome to our Newest Board Members:
Bobby Robinson, Covina, Keller Williams Real Estate Agent Merchandising Sales
Joel Wynton, Downtown LA, Northwestern Mutual, financial planning
Steve Zahn, Torrance, RTI Property Management
Cary Crum, Manhattan Beach, Retired LA County Lifeguard, section chief
To Be Determined
And it was decided to create generic business cards for Board members, to pass out to prospective members and guests, reminders to attend a next TCC meeting or event.
It is with a great deal of enthusiasm we see for TCC for 2018, with much planning and new blood. Please attend as many events as you can and bring friends and co-workers. We can never have too many friendly and loyal Trojan faces. Thanks for your continued confidence in me and your Board.
